Tell You Something You Don’t Know? Ok
One in Twelve people the world over are suffering with Hepatitis. Sounds nasty doesn’t it? Do you even know what Hepatitis entails? Let me tell you…
Hepatitis is a blood-borne disease that can be caused by one of seven different strains (A to G). It affects the liver, causing inflammation which can lead to cirrhosis, liver cancer and even liver failure. Symptoms of Hepatitis do not always show, although if they do then they will most likely include fatigue, nausea, diarrhoea, jaundice and muscle and joint pain. It’s not pleasant by any stretch of the imagination.
Now, perhaps you’re thinking that you’ll never catch it. Surely you’d know if you were at risk. Are you sure? Considering there aren’t always physical symptoms, how positive are you that you’re friend isn’t infected and if you shared a toothbrush with them then you wouldn’t be at risk? It’s a possibility, and it does happen. More common risks include sharing razors, injecting needles and receiving blood transfusions via infected needles.
